Continuous Functions

Clientself-produced
Year2011

Concept

While fashion seems to have invaded the world of design with its rules, Continuous Functions is happy to exploit its materials for its own development – using leftover fabric, yet imposing strictly functional goals to the project.

Development

The expressive and technological research behind the project explores the 3D potential of fabric. By using non-conventional materials and production processes, Continuous Functions moves past the traditional distinction between the parts and materials that make up a product, and creates a new relation with space. Continuous Functions is a manifest/object, in which fabric renounces the ornamental role it has acquired in fashion, and becomes a purely structural element.
