TRASHed – The Art of Recycling

Concept
TRASHed is an initiative by Global Inheritance, a non-profit organization based in Los Angeles, and known for the educational programs it has brought to major festivals in the United States for the past 15 years. In 2014, TRASHed reached Italy and the Kappa FuturFestival, a daytime summer event dedicated to electronic music, held in the city of Turin.
Development
TRASHed invites artists from the whole world to turn garbage bins into interesting communication pieces. Participants are asked to tackle the issue of sustainability, and can express themselves without limitations on style or techniques.
lamatilde curated the selection of the artists who showcased their work during the 2018 Kappa FuturFestival. Research focused on the most original and inspiring talents in the area around Turin, and landed on a list of 14 including graphic designers, painters, illustrators and visual artists.
