Enel Pavilion for Expo 2015
Concept
lamatilde collaborated with TODO in creating the visitor experience for the Enel pavilion at Expo 2015. As one of the event’s official global partners, the client required an interactive space that could showcase precise information while also creating an immersive experience.
Development
lamatilde contributed to spreading the “web” pattern that represented the smart grid to the entire pavilion; namely, the pattern was milled on solid surface along over 100 meters of the footbridge, adapting to varying slopes and curves, to create a visual theme behind the content showcased. In the control room, visitors found a welcoming space where they were invited to find out more, impressed by the sheer impact of a place where they could feel technology and innovation at their fingertips, and by the in-depth information freely available on iPads, where all of the Expo’s energy data could be explored.
