Interior

Concept

Renovating the common areas of the Giardinetto hotel and restaurant, on Lake Orta, was an opportunity to identify the elements that make the varied local architectures stand out with lakeside style.

The project thus brings in, between the four walls of the structure, the bright spaces, the careful craftsmanship in every detail, and the presence of elements that echo the colors of the surrounding landscape, with gradients ranging from the green of forests to the blue of water.

Interior

Development

The project focused on improving the indoor flows between the lobby and the cocktail bar, making the space more fluid and clear while enhancing the structure’s common areas.

The most striking element is the floor, which stands out with the large, asymmetrical, geometrical motif in marble-effect porcelain stoneware, extending to part of the adjacent wall. What is usually a detail is scaled up, in this case, to cover the entire floor, adding visual dynamism and elevating the layout.

The rest of the furniture reflects the green and blue hues of the floor and outdoor landscape, and was customized especially for the hotel. Various pieces are also home to different plants, added both with a decorative role and to partition spaces – a clear reference to the name of the hotel (as Giardinetto literally means “small garden” in Italian) and its relationship with the surrounding nature and gardens.
