Sublimatica – New scenarios in fashion decoration
Sublimatica was the final show for CDL 2018, a workshop in which students from the Design and Visual Communication I program at the Polytechnic University of Turin created new patterns for the textile industry, in collaboration with transfer printing leader Sublitex. Sublimatica is sublimation, a process that is both physical and spiritual: like matter transitions to an ineffable state, man grows and elevates himself.
The patterns printed on canvas were the real focus of the show, as underscored by the logotype, conceptually crossed by candid white fabric bands that intertwine with the letters.
The fluorescent gradient – printed in quadrifluox, a special set of fluorescent CMYK inks – grants depth to communication materials and echoes students’ experimental approach in creating their projects. Both print and online communication, designed specifically to present the projects, became an integral part of the exhibition setup.
