Concept

The project for the bar and restaurant at the “Fausto Coppi” Motorvelodrome in Turin aims to recreate the retro atmosphere of historical sports clubs, to bring their elegant and tempered spirit back into the contemporary world.

The interiors adhere to the peculiar curved shape of the building, as furniture elements follow the lines of the structure and enhance its spatial rhythm, through the use of cozy colors and materials in contrast with the stark architectural context.

Development

The entrance to the restaurant coincides with the main access to the sports center, and splits into a reception area for sports activities and a lounge that welcomes visitors with comfortable seating and work-friendly spots. The coffee-house end of the bar counter extends into the lounge, attracting and inviting clients towards the restaurant area.

A large container element, expressively characterized by the use of color, follows the shape of the architectural structure throughout the venue. Modifying its function according to the specific needs of each area, it fluidly provides standing tables for a quick break, storage space for tableware, a wine cellar and a wardrobe.

Furthermore, this custom piece conceils and unveils the architecture by alternating closed and open spaces in the furniture, thus showcasing the particular shape of the building.

The entire project is characterized by metal frames that add a unique touch and recall the cycling world.
