Concept

Meraviglioso explores the essence of Italian culture, creating an original and fun code that stems from the habit that makes Italian speaking so unique and folkloristic: hand gestures. The outcome is a dream-like and surreal space, where memories of Italian lifestyle embrace tradition and wholesome cooking. Meraviglioso is new because it did not exist before, but also traditional because it gives a new interpretation of consolidated cultural elements.

From a design point of view, Meraviglioso’s concept strived to be extremely flexible and easy to implement: anything that was already working well was maintained – because we believe you don’t always need to “design everything”.

First of all, the project included completely new systems and renovated furniture for the kitchen, bar and pizza restaurant. Interiors followed the restyling criteria defined in a new setup manual, which “neutralized” the colors of the architectural container and added custom furniture and installations. The latter give the space personality, with great use of collages that aptly express made-in-Italy gestures with an extravagant futurist vibe.
